Janine Lazaro is a dedicated community  leader and healthcare professional based in Saskatoon. Currently serves as President of the Filipino-Canadian Association of Saskatchewan (FILCAS), where she promotes cultural awareness, inclusion, and community engagement while strengthening partnerships across diverse groups. With over 25 years of experience at the Saskatchewan Health Authority, Janine rings extensive knowledge in healthcare and public service. She is also a committed Union Representative, actively advocating for workers’ rights, fair practices, and equitable workplaces. Her involvement with the Saskatoon & District Labour Council and the United Steelworkers Saskatoon Area Council reflects her dedication to labour advocacy and social justice.

From 2020 to 2023, she served as Board of Director and Vice President of the Saskatoon Folkfest, supporting multiculturalism through arts and cultural collaboration. In 2020, she ran for Saskatoon City Council (Ward 3),focusing on inclusion, equity, and community recovery.

Janine continues to champion immigrants, workers, and diverse communities through collaborative and inclusive leadership.
