Dr. Virginia Sumalinog
Alberta (AB)
My name is Dr. Virginia Sumalinog, an entrepreneur-founder of childcare facilities and a licensed school teacher in Alberta with over 10 years of experience in Edmonton. I’m also a wife to an Engineer who is also the director of our establishments. We share four wonderful children who are professionals in their own fields: education, medicine and engineering.
My experience and education (doctorate degree in Educational Management and Law (JD, LLB)) have given me the competence and zeal to actively participate in numerous Filipino associations in Canada as well as organizations that promote the Filipino culture such as my positions as a Member of the Premier’s Council for Multiculturalism. My contributions have been recognized by various award-giving bodies such as the Golden Balangay, Alberta Women’s Entrepreneur and Karilagan Leadership.
It is my honour to run as a Board of Director in FCNC to continue my advocacy on helping internationally-educated teachers obtain recognition in Canada for their credentials. Another important advocacy of mine is to assist temporary foreign workers in getting their permanent residencies by passing the IELTS through free tutorials.
I firmly believe that FCNC would be the perfect channel to fulfill my visions.
