I bring strong communication, collaboration, and community-building skills, supported by a deep commitment to service and cultural engagement. My experience includes organizing cultural events and community workshops that foster connection among diverse groups and create inclusive spaces for shared experiences. For example, I have helped organize community events with over 100+ participants, successfully bringing together families and individuals across generations.

I have worked effectively with individuals across different age groups, which has strengthened my ability to value diverse perspectives and promote inclusivity in planning and decision-making. I am also a dependable and attentive listener, ensuring that team members feel heard and respected, contributing to cohesive and productive collaboration. In past initiatives, I have supported volunteer teams of 10–20 members, helping coordinate efforts and ensure smooth event execution.

My commitment to cultural preservation further guides my work, as I actively support initiatives that strengthen Filipino identity and enhance community engagement. I am dedicated to working collaboratively and respectfully to advance the goals of FCNC.

2. What are the most important functions of FCNC for its members?

The most important functions of FCNC center on representation, cultural preservation, and community support.

FCNC plays a critical role in uniting and representing the Filipino community, ensuring that members’ voices are heard and their interests are advocated for. It promotes cultural heritage through events and programs—often reaching large community audiences—that foster pride in Filipino identity while enriching the broader community.

Equally important is FCNC’s role in creating opportunities for connection and support. Through networking events, mentorship, and community engagement initiatives, members are able to build meaningful relationships and access valuable resources that support both personal and professional growth.

FCNC also supports newcomers and families by providing guidance, connections, and a sense of belonging, while building partnerships that strengthen the community as a whole. These functions collectively create an inclusive, empowered, and resilient Filipino community.

3. Why do you want to be a FCNC director?

I am motivated to serve as an FCNC Director because of my strong commitment to the Filipino community and my desire to contribute in a meaningful and strategic way. I believe in FCNC’s mission and the important role it plays in supporting and connecting Filipinos across Canada.

As a director, I would contribute to thoughtful decision-making, support the development of impactful programs, and help expand outreach to ensure that members feel represented and engaged. Building on my experience coordinating community initiatives and working with volunteer teams, I am confident in my ability to help deliver programs that are both inclusive and well-executed.

I am particularly interested in strengthening community initiatives, fostering partnerships, and advocating for programs that reflect the evolving needs of our members. I see this role as an opportunity to give back, collaborate with dedicated leaders, and help build a stronger, more connected future for our community.
