Narima Dela Cruz is the Founder & President of Surrey Philippine Independence Day Society (SPIDS). She is a registered Volunteer/Community partner for Canadian Red Cross, Canadian Blood Services, Canadian Cancer Society of BC, OPTIONS, SUCCESS, BC Transplant Society, and Surrey Food Bank. A former President of the volunteer-driven Parent Advisory Council (PAC) during her kids’ high school years, Narima is currently a member of the Advisory Committee of Asian Studies Program at Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU).
Narima received numerous recognitions as a community leader, professional, volunteer, and advocate. The most notable of which are the Top 25 Canadian Immigrants Award 2012, the Golden Balangay Awards 2019 Pinoy of the Year in Canada, the Filipino Champion of The Year, REALTORS CARE Award by the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver, and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Award in 2022.
Narima is a Court Interpreter/Language Translator, and Licensed Realtor by profession. She is from Quezon Province and lived in Makati City, Philippines before Canada. She is married to Eng’r. Joel Dela Cruz, an Applied Science Technologist/Building Design Associate in BC managing his own business. They have 2 children, Daryl, and Glisha, both accomplished youth and achievers in their own field of endeavors.
